No one’s holding out much hope for Serena, the third collaboration between stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
Of course, the stars have a promising track record – Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle – but their latest feature, directed by Oscar-winner Susanne Bier, has been delayed time and time again, left on the shelf and unscreened (presumably, because it ain’t great).
Whether or not it’s any good, we won’t know until we actually see the film. However, we’ll, shockingly, soon have the chance to deliver a verdict here in Australia, where the pic is expected to bow November 27.
It still doesn’t have a U.S. release date, perhaps because distributors are waiting to see what the reception to the movie is internationally before investing in a costly Academy Award-season run. Otherwise, if reviews are sour and audiences stay away, it’ll probably get a small U.S. release in early 2015.
But that’s America’s problem, not ours. Save the date, maybe: November 27.
